Black Hawk Fishing Report (January 23, 2018)

Fabulous fishing yesterday, Monday, January 22!
Heather from the Black Hawk office reports that we went out last Tuesday.  It was a beautiful winter day, nice and calm, and we had a great group who put in a lot of effort at the rail, but overall the results proved a tough day on the cod grounds- a few cod and a handful of ling.
The vast majority of the codfish we’ve been fishing on for the last two and a half months seemed to have moved on, so we took a week off to let the fishing improve before we headed back out.  And improve it did!!
Yesterday was like codfishing back in the 80’s- fast and furious! “Drop ’em to the bottom and ya got ’em”- it couldn’t have been any better with nice size fish to 30 pounds and everyone getting their limit. With loaded coolers, tired arms and smiling customers we came in early from the battle.  Keep reading to check out the video!
The weather doesn’t look great for Tuesday or Wednesday, but we’ll plan on going out Thursday and Friday, and the weekend too if weather permits. Grab your tickets online from our website or call the office for more info.
